Mercy Weight Management Clinic at Regency is designed for adults who desire a medically supervised weight management program that uses a team approach to help reach goals.

During the first visit, patients will meet with each member of the medical team. First, they will see June Vogelman, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, for a one-hour consultation and a physical exam. Meetings with the dietitian and personal trainer will be scheduled at the clinic that same day. After talking with all members of the team, a plan will be created. Plans are very individualized and are designed with patient input.

While some patients may strictly manage weight by exercise and nutrition, some patients may need prescribed medication. Another unique aspect of the clinic is that patients have a strong advocate in June, who will listen and treat them according to their needs and abilities.

While this clinic is for all adults who desire a weight management program, enrolling in the clinic for six months will fulfill the requirements set by most insurance companies for patients considering gastric bypass surgery.

Cost of the clinic is $120, which will cover the first visit and consultation with the medical team and materials. Included in the materials will be:

• Nutrition journal
• Activity log
• Educational materials

If a patient desires extra visits with any member of the team other than the healthcare provider, the patient will need to cover the additional cost. Follow-up visits with June will be made monthly; most insurance companies will cover the cost of these visits. These visits should not take the place of regular physician visits, and a patient's regular doctor will be given updates to their progress.
