Treatment options for wounds
There are multiple reasons your wound may not be healing properly. Primary causes of a breakdown in the wound-healing process can include infection, tissue ischemia/hypoxia, inadequate wound responsiveness or unrelieved pressure.
MercyOne offers care that can help heal your chronic wounds including:
Foot care
Your feet are the foundation of your body, so it’s important to take proper care of them. Years of wear and tear from overuse, ill-fitting shoes and even genetics can greatly impact your mobility and your overall health.
Whether you have thick, long toenails or tough corns and calluses, our foot care nurse provides personalized care that focused on your safety, health and comfort.
Foot care available:
Foot care is provided by a certified foot care nurse by the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board. A foot care nurse does not replace the need for a podiatrist or medical doctor but instead works collaboratively in understanding the best practice protocols and procedures for our patient.
What else does a foot care nurse do?
MercyOne does not do pedicures – no soaks or polish.
