The sale of the Third Street houses for $1 (buyer to take on additional costs including moving the house, new site, basement/slab) is one of the initial steps of the overall Emergency Department Replacement Project.

The houses are being removed in an effort to enhance convenient parking near the East Campus for our patients, their families, medical staff and associates.

Mercy wanted to offer the option of removing the houses instead of demolishing them because these houses have useful life left and it's the right thing to do environmentally.
