Library The Willows is a spacious, carefully planned rental community located on the rolling meadows of the West Campus of Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa in Mason City. Designed to enhance the quality of life for retired people, The Willows offers comfort and convenience along with security and scenic beauty.

The Willows is a friendly little neighborhood. You can join others for a coffee break or card game, relax in the lounge or read in the library. Join your neighbors for Sunday Vespers, one of the formal teas or just enjoy the people who share your interests. Meals in the dining room are a good time to catch up on news and make plans.

The Facility
The entire community is designed to make your retirement enjoyable and safe. The Willows offers one and two bedroom apartments, dining room, library, laundry facilities and attached garages as well as offices -- all on one level.

The commons area is available to all residents for an impromptu gathering or to schedule for private use to entertain groups. The on-site beauty shop offers hair care appointments each week.

Living Room Our secured building allows you to admit your guests through the front door intercom system. A campus security guard patrols our building and grounds.

The Conveniences
Your apartment home is furnished with modern electric range and oven, disposal, refrigerator and dishwasher. Each unit has a separate control for the heating and cooling system so you can adjust the climate to your personal preference. And the comfort continues with wall-to-wall carpeting in living areas, easy to clean vinyl floors in the kitchen and bath, ample storage space, and washer-dryer hook-up if you prefer. Each unit has plenty of windows and a patio.

Apartment Kitchen

The Willows offers a comfortable lifestyle with no long-term commitment. Choose from one and two bedroom rental units. Attached garages are an optional add-on.

The Freedom
You’ve earned the comfortable life you’ll find at The Willows. We provide security, exterior maintenance, and janitorial services. Our van is available for shopping, medical appointments and excursions. The noon meal (optional at a small fee) is served with style every day. Maybe most important to you, a unique emergency call system lightens health care concerns. Each apartment is linked directly to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.

One of the things you’ll like best about The Willows is the people. You’ll develop friendships with others like you, with interests like yours. You’ll have a whole new neighborhood of friends – all within walking distance.

Valentine's Party

The Willows residents volunteer to serve on committees to plan activities, entertainment and crafts. Your participation is welcome and optional. At The Willows, you participate in what you want to do and enjoy the privacy and quiet of your apartment when you prefer time alone.

Great Room

And don’t forget man’s best friend; small pets are welcome at The Willows. Whether your bring a furry family friend to your new home, set up bird feeders near your patio or just enjoy watching the local deer and rabbits nibbling off in the distance, animal life abounds.

Great Room

We offer an open invitation to tour The Willows. You may experience The Willows in one of our furnished apartments through our “bed and breakfast” overnight stay (a small fee applies) – invite a friend or family member to join you. When space allows, we also allow winter rental of a furnished apartment, so you can try out retirement living without giving up your home. All you will need to bring is a suitcase and groceries.
