Visitor Information

Visiting Hours for Specific Nursing Units:

Medical/Surgical Units
General visiting hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pediatrics

  • All visitors must request permission into the pediatric unit and visitors may be limited per request of the staff and/or parent or guardian of the child.
  • Parents, grandparents, or designated adult significant other may visit 24 hours a day
  • All other visitors are welcome 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Siblings may visit if accompanied by an adult, if the patient is infectious the siblings must remain in the patient's room.
  • Visitors must be free from illness, a health screening is conducted on all visitors prior to visiting.

Mental Health Unit

  • Monday through Friday visiting hours are 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays visiting hours are 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Visitation for an adolescent patient is per unit adolescent handbook.

Birth Center

  • Husband or designated significant other visiting hours are 24 hours a day.
  • They also are allowed in the Labor-Delivery-Recovery Rooms (LDR).
  • Siblings, grandparents and friends visiting hours are in accordance with the wishes of the mother.
  • They are allowed in the LDR only under the direction of the physician/nurse.
  • All visitors must wash hands thoroughly before handling the baby.
  • Siblings may hold the baby in the mother's room with parental supervision.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

  • Visitors are limited to parents and grandparents.
  • Siblings of the baby may visit if approved by the nurse in charge.
  • Visits are limited to approximately 10 minutes.
  • Visitors must wash hands thoroughly before entering the NICU.
  • Holding the baby is at the nurse's discretion.

Critical Care Unit

  • Visiting hours are arranged with the nurse caring for the patient for each shift.
  • Visitors are requested to sign in and out with the volunteer in the CCU waiting room.
  • Visitors are asked to check with the nurse caring for the patient they wish to visit. If the patient is sleeping or a procedure is being performed for any patient in the unit, visiting may not be allowed.
  • A maximum of two visitors is allowed in a patient room at one time.
  • Children under 12 may not be left unattended in the waiting areas and do require special permission to visit critically ill patients.
  • A responsible adult should take children who are crying, loud, or running in the area to the first floor lobby.

6W Medical Telemetry

  • Cardiac patients who are transferred from the CVRU following heart surgery will have visitors limited to the immediate family during the early postoperative period.

Skilled Nursing Unit

  • Visitors are welcome 24 hours a day based on patient and/or family needs and the patient's therapy program.

Acute Rehabilitation Unit

  • Visiting hours are based on patient needs and preferences and therapy schedules.The best time for visiting is early evening.

Hospice

  • Visitors are welcome 24 hours a day based on patient and/or family need and preference.
