What is a Sleep Evaluation?

A sleep evaluation is an opportunity for our staff to review your sleep and identify problems that may be interfering with it. Sleep may be monitored at home with the use of ambulatory monitoring. With this method, patients wear a portable monitor to record sleep patterns, heart rate, and physical activity for 24 hours or more. These devices are available at Mercy Home Therapy Shoppe.

Sleep evaluations also may be conducted in our sleep lab to record your sleep and monitor your breathing, heart activity, and body movements. Following the sleep study, our staff will analyze your sleep recordings and send a written report of findings and recommendations for treatment to your physician. All abnormal studies will be interpreted and followed up with a neurologist.
