Rehabilitation Services-Aquatic Therapy

aquatic therapyAquatic therapy utilizes the warmth, buoyancy, and resistance of water to provide benefits for many conditions and injuries. The soothing 94-degree water and buoyancy can decrease stress on joints, decrease pain, and improve flexibility. Resistance from moving through the water can be used to improve balance, strength, and function. People who have difficulty with land-based exercise and function will often tolerate exercise and activity in the water better than on land.

Aquatic therapy is a one-on-one treatment of exercises and techniques to help each person achieve their therapy goals. The aquatic therapy staff includes physical therapists and physical therapy assistants with specialized training in aquatic therapy.
