Welcome to the Pediatric Unit at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. The following information is provided to help you understand what services we provide as well as what the Pediatric Unit Visiting Guidelines are.
Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa employs four Pediatric Hospitalists, which are pediatricians who care for children in many areas such as the Pediatric Unit, labor and delivery, newborn nursery, the emergency department and the neonatal intensive care unit. Pediatric hospitalists work with your regular pediatrician or family doctor and providers involved in your child's care. When your child leaves the hospital, a pediatric hospitalist will give your pediatrician or family doctor an overview of your child's stay and detailed instructions for any necessary further care.
The Pediatric Unit consists of 15 beds and operates continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Unit primarily serves infants, children and adolescents.
