Contributions:
Contributions are used to help pay for expenses of caring for patients and their families, unless specified differently by the donor. Reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance covers only a portion of program expenses. If there’s no coverage for hospice, care is still provided regardless of the person’s ability to pay. Therefore, Hospice of North Iowa relies to a great extent on donations. All donations are tax deductible.
Memorials:
Hospice
gratefully accepts contributions in memory of a deceased friend
or relative. We are always grateful when one of our patient’s
families designates Hospice of North Iowa as a memorial recipient.
We are also thankful when we are designated as a memorial recipient
from a family not involved in the Hospice program. This is also
true for those families who remember an out-of-town relative or
friend
with a memorial contribution to us.
Memorial Plaques:
A Memorial Plaque for gifts of $1,000 is available. The plaque is located at the Hospice of North Iowa Center in Mason City. Each engraved plate on the plaque includes 3 lines with 40 spaces per line.
Commemorative
Brick Walkway:
A Commemorative Brick Walkway is located at the Hospice of North Iowa Center in Mason City. Your gift of $100 will provide you with an engraved 4” x 8” brick to be placed in the Walkway. The bricks are deeply etched with a protected inscription. Each brick will hold a maximum of three lines, with thirteen spaces on each line. A 12” x 12” brick is available for $5,000 gifts.
Tree of Life:
The Tree of Life is a special event held at the end of each year. With a donation of any amount, a light is placed on a tree in remembrance of a loved one or in honor of someone living. A tree lighting ceremony is held and the names of those being remembered and honored are displayed until after January 1. Tree lighting ceremonies are held in Mason City, Forest City, Charles City, Hampton, New Hampton, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Osage and Lake Mills.
