Electrophysiology
Mason City Clinic/Mercy Heart Center, in conjunction with the Mayo Clinic, provides electrophysiology services twice each month at Mason City Clinic.
Electrophysiology, or an EP study, is the detection and treatment of potentially life-threatening or abnormal heart rhythms. An EP study also is done on people who have persistent symptoms of heart conditions that cannot be detected by other means.
The Mayo Clinic cardiologists are board certified in electrophysiology and will provide consultations and electrophysiology services at the Mason City Clinic on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Patients can be seen by Mayo Clinic cardiologists upon referral from a Mercy Heart Center cardiologist.
