Controlling Phosphorus
A food is considered high in phosphorus if it contains over 80 mg. of phosphorus per serving. (Food labeling does not require phosphorus to be listed, which makes dietary compliance even more difficult). Most dialysis patients may have up to 1200 mg. of phosphorus per day.
