Exercise Improves Nutrition, Sleep, & Health

There are many studies that show exercise has many health benefits.

  • Exercise improves nutritional health.
  • Exercise helps your body retain protein.
  • Exercise helps your body build muscle tissue.
  • Exercise helps control weight.
  • Exercise helps control blood pressure.
  • Exercise helps raise HDL (good cholesterol).
  • Exercise helps control blood sugars in diabetics.
  • Exercise improves sleep.
  • Exercise improves heart function.
  • Exercise relieves stress.

Did You Exercise Today?

  • A good exercise program does not mean you have to run, walk, or jog. Start by doing arm lifts or leg lifts while watching TV.
  • Short (five minute) sessions of any kind of exercise, done four times a day equals 20 minutes of exercise. This is enough to help see some of those health benefits.
  • For heart benefits, exercise at least 20 minutes three days a week.
  • For weight loss, try to exercise 30 minutes five days a week.
