When the time arrives for the birth of your baby, you may enter Mercy Medical Center through the Main Entrance or the Emergency Entrance. On Monday through Friday between 5:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., please enter through the Main Entrance and check in at Patient Registration (through the lobby and on your left). On weekends and after 5 p.m., please enter through the Emergency Center and register there. The Emergency entrance is open 24 hours-a-day whereas all other doors are locked after 8:00 p.m.
Mercy Birth Center is located on the third floor of Mercy Medical Center. You will be escorted by wheel chair to a labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) room where you will be assessed by a registered nurse. Your physician will be contacted. A resident physician also may assist in your care. Approximately two hours after your baby's birth, you will be moved to a patient room.
