Register for United Healthcare online services for access to eligibility, benefits, claims status, and appeals, as well as the Administrative Guides for United HealthCare, Golden Rule, and their leased network. Medica uses UHC network.
Definity is a product offered by UHC, which offers enrollees a high deductible medical coverage plan linked to a savings or spending account for health care services. The Definity account can be either an employer-funded Health Reimbursement Account or a Health Savings Account. Funds in these accounts can be used to cover some of the out-of-pocket costs, such as deductible and coinsurance.
United Healthcare plans do not recognize or credential PAs and ARNPs.
No signs need to be posted because patients can go to these mid level providers, they get reimbursed the same as physicians as long as it is billed under an MD or DO on the HCFA. We have no reduction because we don't credential them at this point. If ever in the future we do credential them as providers, more than likely they would be reimbursed less than the MD -- similar to other payers like 85% or so. Per Lisa Dammen on 4/14/05.
United Healthcare will not recognize or credential residents, even if they are moonlighting as independent licensed practitioners. Their services can be billed under a supervising physician.
