Chaplains are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via pagers. Physicians are encouraged to page a chaplain to visit patients facing crisis and to include chaplains in patient care conferences, when appropriate, whether in the hospital or in physicians' offices.

Ethics Consult Team of Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa's Ethics Committee

The Ethics Consult Team of the Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa's Ethics Committee can provide to physicians, patients, families, and staff:

  • Assistance in resolving conflicts over treatment issues
  • Assistance in clarifying health center and network policies
  • Support to those making difficult medical treatment decisions
  • Information about Advance Directives (Living Will, Medical Power of Attorney)

Due to the nature of the issues involved, all information will remain confidential. The Ethics Consult Team can be contacted by dialing "O" for the switchboard operator.
