Anne Monson, RN, is March's recipient for Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa’s DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Each month a nurse from Mercy– North Iowa is honored with The DAISY Award, which recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
Anne is a nurse in Mercy's Critical Care Unit. A former patient's family nominated her for the award.
"Our family would like to nominate Anne for the DAISY Award. Our grandma had failing health for several months, and it had gotten much worse. She was brought by ambulance directly to critical care. Anne was her nurse that night. She was our angel. She kept us informed, calmed, and reassured. We feel she went above and beyond. Anne was very much an advocate for grandma by talking to the doctor many times throughout the night. As morning drew near and decisions needed to be made, Anne was here to help us. Grandma passed away peacefully that day. Anne helped us through a very difficult time. She is a super nurse. And we thank her for her exceptional care and dedication."
