Mathias Wilson, RN, is March’s recipient for Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa’s DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Each month a nurse from Mercy– North Iowa is honored with The DAISY Award, which recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
Mathias is a nurse in Mercy’s Critical Care Unit. A family member of a former patient nominated him for the award.
“Mathias was so good with my aunt while she was in the ICU. He was so attentive to her every need and never once acted as if we were bothering him. He catered to her every need and was so very kind to me! He answered all of my questions, always kept me informed and was concerned about my comfort and needs. God Bless the angels in ICU.”
Melissa Barnes, DAISY Award Regional Program Director and the sister-in-law to Patrick Barnes whom the award was created in remembrance of, was in Mason City for the presentation of the award.
