Healthcare Advocacy

Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa takes seriously its opportunities to inform people about legislative issues that can have a direct impact on the cost and availability of health care services. Some decisions our legislators will make can equate to dollars being reimbursed to health care in the form of Medicare and Medicaid. Other decisions may directly affect the number of hours staff are spending on paperwork, keeping them from doing what they do best - caring for patients.

In any case, these issues can have a direct impact on you as a patient.

You can become a health care advocate. Grassroots advocacy efforts have been tried and remain to be true. We need you to help us keep health care a top priority on both the state and federal levels.

Lead the Way

The time for healthcare reform is now.

  • Healthcare costs are at an all-time high.
  • Nearly one in six Americans is uninsured - most are from working families.
  • Millions more are struggling to afford the coverage they have.

In a just society, we must ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare.  We know that reforming America's healthcare system isn't going to be easy, but it can be done.  We're urging elected officials, business leaders, healthcare providers, insurers and individuals to join with us to find a way to reform healthcare in America.
