Stanley Hahn, M.D.
Dr. Hahn is a board certified general and bariatric surgeon and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.  He has been performing weight loss surgery since 1992 and his mortality, complication, and success rates compare favorably to many surgeons in the nation.

Dr. Hahn trained at the University of Iowa. He was trained by the “grandfather” of bariatric surgery, Dr. Ed Mason. In 1966, Dr. Mason developed the gastric bypass operation which is the most common weight loss surgery and considered the gold standard for weight loss operations in the United States. He also developed the gastroplasty operation in 1980 which was the precursor operation for the laparoscopic gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy. At the end of Dr. Hahn’s training, Dr. Mason honored him by asking that he stay on as a professor and take over Dr. Mason’s program.

Dr. Hahn offers different types of bariatric surgery, including the most common which are laparoscopic gastric bypass and laparoscopic gastric banding.

Dr. Hahn lives and operates here locally so you can get safe and more convenient care closer to home.  If you develop complications you can be treated here locally, staying closer to family and friends.

If you are 100 pounds over your ideal weight, considered morbidly obese, and have been considering weight loss surgery, get in touch with Dr. Hahn by calling 641-428-7799.
