Career Education Opportunities

Family Medicine Residency - Located in Mason City, Iowa, the Mercy Family Medicine Residency has been in existence since 1974 and is one of eight programs affiliated with the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine through the Statewide Family Practice Training Network.

Graduate Nursing Internship Program is an innovative education program for new nursing graduates. New graduates accepting a full-time Registered Nurse Intern position will be provided an opportunity to spend six months learning from expert nurses at Mercy Medical Center. They will be paid the base registered nurse (RN) hourly wage during the internship and be classified as a full-time employee and receive full-time benefits.

Palliative Medicine Fellowship - Accredited by Palliative Medicine Review Committee

Pharmacy Practice Residency - This ASHP accredited program has been in existence at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa since 1998. The residency focuses on the provision of pharmaceutical care across the continuum of care. This includes acute care, ambulatory care (retail), home care, long term care, and other specialty practice areas.

Mercy Scholars Program is designed to provide tuition for students interested in several types of health care careers. In exchange the student agrees to work at Mercy upon graduation. The student's employment commitment with Mercy will depend on the level of Financial assistance received.

Regional Health Education Center - Provides information on community health education classes and support groups available to the general public in North Iowa.

Radiologic Technology Program - Radiology students complete a 4-semester, 2 summer-session course of study in radiography which includes academic courses and approximately 2300 clinical hours. Upon completion of the Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa School of Radiologic Technology, students are eligible to take an examination to become registered radiologic technologists.
