Mercy Scholars
Mercy
Scholars is a program offered by Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa to assist
individuals who are pursuing degrees in health care. The program offers financial
assistance for select educational programs (see list below) where there is
a forecasted need or hard to recruit positions. These health care careers
may change from year to year based on the projected needs of Mercy Medical
Center - North Iowa.
Mercy Scholars is available to anyone who is interested, once they have been accepted into an educational program. Qualified applicants complete a process that includes an application, references, official transcripts (minimum 2.5 GPA needed), an assessment tool, an acceptance letter into the program they are pursuing, and a personal interview. Mercy Scholars will cover the cost of tuition; and for some programs, a living allowance is available (up to $12,500 per year).
There is an employment commitment for Mercy Scholar participants to fulfill depending on the level of financial assistance they receive. (1 year of service for every $2500 dollars received, for most programs).

- Nursing - ADN (Living Allow. offered)

- Pharmacists (Previous experience with Mercy as a technician/intern is preferred.)
- Physical Therapist (PT)
- Respiratory Therapists (Living Allow. offered)
