JulieNeeley, L.P.N., was June’s recipient for Mercy Medical Center –North Iowa’s Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Each month a nurse from Mercy-North Iowa is honored with The Daisy Award, which recognizes the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.
Neeleyhas worked at Mercy –North Iowa for more than 44 years and during her tenure also has been named a Mercy Legend, a prestigious annual award given to an associate who is admired for his/her achievements and is an inspiration to others.
Neeleyis the second Mercy nurse to receive the award; Gretchen Crooks, R.N., was the first and was named during National Nurses Week in May. "Julie is a very special person who possesses an outstanding caring attitude …In all that she does, she places her patient as her number one priority,"said Scott Cooper, R.N., who nominatedNeeleyfor the award.
Mercy –North Iowa’s Patient Care Experience Committee, which is made up of nurses,select the award recipients each month based on nominations they receive from patients, their family members, and/or Mercy associates.
