MASON CITY – Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa’s Sleep Disorders Lab has received recognition as a Best of 2013 Sleep Lab Facility by Sleep Review, The Journal For Sleep Specialists. It is one of just 41 facilities to receive the award nationally and the only one in the state of Iowa who met the criteria to receive this recognition.
Alireza Yarahmadi, M.D., is the Medical Director for Mercy’s Sleep Clinic.
“Mercy Sleep Clinic is the only multi-disciplinary sleep clinic in the North Iowa area that has incorporated a system-based practice of neurology, pulmonary, psychology, and on-site certified respiratory therapist and sleep technicians,” Yarahmadi said.
Other medical providers at the Mercy Sleep Clinic are Neurologists Sant M. Hayreh, M.D., and Rajinder K. Verma, M.D., Otolaryngologist (ENT) Phillip C. Lee, M.D., and Pulmonologist Arvind M. Perathur, M.D.
Mercy Sleep Clinic monitors, diagnoses, and treats patients with obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, and many other sleep disorders. Sleep Apnea should be treated as any other chronic health condition. It can contribute to heart disease, hypertension, stroke, and other numerous serious health conditions.
