New Year, New Phone Number!
Start Date
12/16/2010
Article

MASON CITY – Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa will change the three-digit prefix for all its Mason City-based facilities. The new prefix of 428 will take effect January 1, 2011. While the current prefixes of 421, 422, 423 and 494, will change to 428, the last four digits of all telephone numbers will remain the same.

This new prefix will affect all fax machine numbers, but will not affect toll-free numbers, including Mercy Family Health Line’s toll-free number.

"With this change our telephone system will be enhanced to provide newer technology to allow for growth and improved customer service," said Jim FitzPatrick, President/CEO, Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.

A limited number of business and patient critical telephone numbers will be automatically forwarded after January 1, 2011. These auto-forwarded numbers include the hospital’s main number, and Mercy Family Health Line’s number, but the auto-forward function will be discontinued in January 2012.

"We want to thank everyone for their understanding and support in this project," FitzPatrick said.
