Dr. Supanich has many years of experience in the field of palliative and hospice care, most recently as Medical Director of Palliative Medicine and Senior Services at Holy Cross Hospital, located in Silver Spring, Maryland. Holy Cross is a sister hospital of Mercy – North Iowa.
Prior to that, she practiced rural family medicine in Michigan for 15 years, then transitioned to teaching family medicine residents and medical students at Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, as an Associate Professor. While pursuing a Fellowship in Palliative Medicine at Mayo in Jacksonville, Florida, she also was an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Supanich received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from Mercy College, located in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to obtaining her Medical degree from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, she engaged in Clinical Pastoral Education. She completed her family medicine residency through Creighton University and has completed several medical fellowships for clinical medical ethics, managed care and palliative medicine.
She is board certified by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Family Medicine. She is a Fellow in the American Academy Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Family Medicine. In 1998, she was listed in Who’s Who in America and in 2000 in Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
