Anticoagulation Clinic (AC) is a specialty clinic at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa's east campus; located in the Forest Park Medical Clinic building. The clinic offers extensive monitoring of warfarin (Coumadin), an anticoagulation medication primarily use to prevent clotting in patient with mechanical valves, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolisms, and atrial fibrillation.
Patients will need to be referred to the AC by their primary care doctor. The AC is staff by Pharm Ds and a physicians assistant (PA) who perform INR testing, patient assessments, and adjust warfarin doses as needed for each patient's INR goal parameters.
